Located just outside of Bennington, this remote-feeling state park is one of Vermont’s highest-elevation campgrounds — and one of its most peaceful.

Surrounded by 400+ acres of dense hardwood forest, Woodford offers a back-to-basics camping experience where the modern world fades into the background. Woodford State Park offers a classic, rustic Vermont camping experience. The campground is wooded, quiet, and spacious — with campsites tucked beneath towering trees and many offering views or easy access to the lake.

Campground features include:

• 76 total campsites
  • Tent/RV sites (no hookups)
  • 20 lean-to shelters for weatherproof camping
  • 4 rustic cabins (heated, no plumbing)
• Clean restrooms with flush toilets and coin-operated hot showers
• Dump station available
• Picnic tables and fire rings at each site
• Drinking water spigots throughout the park
• Pet-friendly (on-leash in designated areas)
• Quiet hours observed for a tranquil experience

Sites are private and shaded, making this an ideal retreat for campers who value peace, simplicity, and the sound of the forest.

• Canoeing, kayaking & paddleboarding (rentals available at the park office)

• Hiking the 2.7-mile Adams Reservoir Loop Trail — scenic and beginner-friendly
