Description

🌅 OVERVIEW

Nestled between the sparkling waters of Lake Champlain and the vibrant heart of Burlington, North Beach Campground is a unique blend of urban convenience and lakeside serenity. Just minutes from downtown yet surrounded by woods, trails, and the shore, it’s one of Vermont’s most beloved summer getaways.

With direct access to Burlington’s largest beach, scenic bike paths, and the city’s thriving food, arts, and culture scene, North Beach Campground is the perfect home base for campers who want the best of both worlds: the peaceful rhythm of nature and the energy of a walkable, waterfront city.

🌲 THE CAMPGROUND

Set on 45 acres of shaded woodland, North Beach Campground offers a laid-back, family-friendly camping experience right on the edge of Lake Champlain. It’s ideal for tents, RVs, and everything in between — whether you're staying for a weekend, a week, or all summer long.

Campground features include:

  • 137 campsites: tent sites, lean-tos, and full hookup RV sites
  • Pull-through and back-in options
  • Clean restrooms and hot showers
  • Laundry facilities on-site
  • Picnic tables and fire rings at each site
  • General store for snacks, firewood, ice, and beach gear
  • Free Wi-Fi in select areas
  • Pet-friendly (leash required)
  • On-site security and friendly campground staff

Campsites are tucked under mature trees and offer easy walking access to both the beach and the Burlington Bike Path, creating a true park-within-the-city feel.

🏖️ BEACH, TRAILS & URBAN ADVENTURE

The crown jewel of the campground is North Beach itself — a wide, sandy shoreline with designated swimming areas, lifeguards in season, and unbeatable views of the Adirondack Mountains across the lake.

Just steps from your site, you can:

  • Swim, sunbathe, or picnic on Lake Champlain’s shore
  • Rent kayaks or paddleboards from the beach concession stand
  • Ride the scenic Burlington Greenway (Bike Path), which runs through the campground and stretches from Oakledge Park to the Winooski River
  • Explore downtown Burlington — breweries, farmers markets, music, museums, and cafés — all within 5–10 minutes
  • Visit the nearby ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain, Church Street Marketplace, or Waterfront Park
  • Take a ferry or sunset cruise from Burlington Harbor
  • Day trip to local farms, vineyards, and mountain trails in every direction

Whether you’re biking to brunch or paddling at sunset, North Beach offers more than just access — it offers freedom to explore, at your pace.

🔥 CAMPFIRES & COMMUNITY VIBES

Evenings at North Beach Campground are filled with classic camping charm — the smell of campfire smoke, laughter drifting from nearby sites, and families grilling dinner or roasting marshmallows as the sun dips behind the lake.

Each site is equipped with a picnic table and fire ring, and quiet hours are respected — so you can enjoy both a vibrant community atmosphere and a peaceful night’s sleep.
