OVERVIEW
High in the Eastern Sierra Nevada Mountains, June Lake Campground is a gem nestled above the shoreline of June Lake (elevation ~ 7,600 ft) in the charming village of June Lake (community), CA. This site’s mix of mountain peaks, crystalline lake water, and forested campground offers a retreat from the everyday — whether you’re casting a line, wandering forest trails, or simply breathing the thin high-altitude air. With a short walk into town for dining or supplies, it blends wilderness access and convenience beautifully.
THE CAMPGROUND
- 28 campsites (tents and small RVs) managed by U.S. Forest Service.
- Located among mixed aspen and pine forest just above June Lake’s eastern shoreline — many sites have forest cover and mountain views.
- Facilities include drinking water, flush toilets, and bear-proof food lockers at each site (due to active bear area).
- Pets allowed (leash required) but site amenities are more rustic than full RV parks: no hookups.
- Quiet hours: 10:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m.
