Located at 22 Cedar Mountain Rd, Castleton, VT 05735, the park offers a classic mix of lakefront relaxation and wooded adventure, making it one of southern Vermont’s top spots for camping and outdoor recreation.

THE PARK

Bomoseen State Park spans over 3,500 acres, offering 55 tent/RV campsites, 10 lean-tos, and 4 cabins, all located within walking distance of the lake. The campground is well-maintained and equipped with restrooms, hot showers, picnic areas, and fire pits.

Lake Bomoseen is the centerpiece of the park, offering swimming, boating, kayaking, and excellent fishing. There’s also a boat launch and rental facilities for canoes and kayaks. A large, sandy beach with a grassy picnic area makes it easy to spend the whole day lakeside.

Several hiking trails wind through the park, including routes through old slate quarries—a nod to the area’s rich industrial history. The trails offer scenic views, moderate challenges, and great opportunities for spotting birds and other wildlife.
